PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH FINANCIAL STRATEGY, M&A, AND FP&A IN A MID-SIZE OR HIGHER CONSTRUCTION ORGANIZATION IS REQUIRED.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Vice President, Finance will report to the CEO and will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all financial strategy, planning, and operations for the company. This role will be responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing insights that support long-term growth in the utilities construction sector. The VP, Finance will partner with operations, project management, and business development leaders to align financial goals with strategic objectives.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Advise the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team on financial performance, risk management, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Oversee accounting, treasury, payroll, and tax functions.
  • Implement financial systems, processes, and controls that ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Monitor project profitability, cash flow management, and working capital requirements.
  • Partner with project managers to evaluate job costing, bid strategies, and contract financial terms.
  • Manage financial risk related to large-scale utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee bonding, insurance, and compliance requirements tied to government and utility contracts.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, FASB, and other applicable financial standards.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, lenders, and industry requirements.
  • Assess and mitigate risks, including those tied to market conditions, project execution, and capital investment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to operations, safety, and project leadership teams.

WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience in the construction, utilities, or infrastructure sectors strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in financial planning, project finance, innovation, and capital management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, bonding, insurance, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • FP&A and M&A experience is required.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • This job will be primarily office-based with exposure to normal office environments and noises.
  • This position will require travel based on business initiatives, and locations may be across North America.
  • May be required to stand, sit, bend, twist, and reach as part of the job.
  • Extended periods of standing on your feet may be required.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, or other job-related pre-hire screenings related to the job.
  • Travel up to 25% may be required.
  • The preference for this job is to be onsite in West Monroe, LA at our corporate office.
  • The anticipated base compensation for this role is between $150,000 and $250,000 USD. Pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and location.
