Critical Care Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) with every other weekend coverage.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling an average patient-load of 0.2 ppd, and must be capable of managing complex patient needs across various disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' conditions and report changes to the medical team.


• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy, sedation, and emergency medications.


• Conduct patient care tasks such as blood product administration and central line management.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.


• Perform necessary procedures including phlebotomy, EKG/ECG, and arterial line management.


• Maintain infection prevention standards and implement isolation precautions when necessary.


• Assist in management of ventilated patients and acute stroke management protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care or medical surgical setting.


• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; CCRN certification preferred.


• Proficient in conscious sedation, telemetry, and ventilator management.
