Location: Ashland, OR | Department: General & Company Management
Status: Temporary, Part-Time (0–19 hours/week)
Hourly Rate: $22.66
Expected Dates: October 24 – November 3, 2025

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Transportation Assistant to provide safe and professional driving services for company members and guests. If you enjoy helping people, know your way around vehicles, and can bring a calm, courteous presence to the road—even in early mornings, late nights, or varied weather—this role could be a great fit for you.

The Role You’ll Play

As a Transportation Assistant, you’ll be the person who gets artists, staff, and guests where they need to go safely and on time. From airport shuttles to local trips between OSF’s workspaces, housing, and stores, you’ll support the company’s daily operations while ensuring every rider feels welcome. You’ll also help with car-share program duties, rental car pickups, and other transport-related tasks.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide safe, reliable shuttle and transportation services for OSF staff, company members, and guests.

  • Drive OSF fleet vehicles for errands, deliveries, and local trips, following all traffic laws and OSF policies.

  • Assist with OSF’s car-share program, including bookings, refueling, and washing vehicles.

  • Arrange for rental vehicle pickups and drop-offs.

  • Monitor OSF email and Teams messages to respond to requests promptly.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and trainings.

  • Uphold OSF’s values of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all interactions.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…
  • Have strong communication skills and a genuine desire to provide excellent customer service.

  • Hold a valid driver’s license, are of legal age to drive rental vehicles, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicles Record (MVR).

  • Are dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently.

  • Can safely drive in all weather, including snow or low-visibility conditions.

  • Are able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle stairs and varied physical activity as needed.

  • Can adapt to a highly variable schedule of early mornings, late nights, weekends, and weekdays.

Preferred Experience
  • Background in hospitality, theatre, or live entertainment.

  • Familiarity with the Rogue Valley area.

  • Basic computer skills, including email, Word, and Excel.

Organizational Background

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) was founded in 1935 in Ashland, OR, and has grown from a three-day festival of two plays to a nationally renowned theatre arts organization that presents a rotating repertory season of up to 10 plays and musicals, including illuminating interpretations of Shakespeare, other enduring classics, and new works. OSF productions have been presented on Broadway, internationally, and at regional, community, and high school theatres across the country. OSF received the 1983 Special Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre and is one of the largest nonprofit theatres in the nation with three stages, including an outdoor Allen Elizabethan Theatre.

Statement of Purpose

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival creates world-class theatre, revealing our collective humanity through illuminating interpretations of new and classic plays, and inspiring a love of our art form for current and future generations.

Company Values
  • We are committed to working toward inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, creating a space of belonging for all audiences and employees—through concrete actions and systemic improvements.
  • We nurture and support our artists, attracting and retaining diverse, innovative talent across the organization.
  • We believe in the transformational power of collaborative artmaking and performance.
  • We recognize the importance of responsible stewardship of resources and sustainable business, financial, and environmental practices.
  • We serve the public good and engage with and respect our community of artists, audiences, staff, local citizens, patrons, donors, and the greater theatre community worldwide.
