FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, FT, 40 hours per week

Compensation $30.00 to $32.00 per hour

Summary: The Retail Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of store operations including customer service training, employee/volunteer supervision, production, merchandising, and pricing/sales of product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Supervision

  • Lead team to create a sincere, warm, friendly, and safe shopping atmosphere and work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Employee Handbook.
  • Establish sales objectives, communicate sales objectives to employees, and lead the store team to the achievement of those objectives.
  • Assess personnel needs with Regional Manager and work with Human Resources to fill those needs in compliance with Society policy.
  • Administer all employee and volunteer paperwork.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.
  • Terminate employees with support of management and Human Resources in compliance with SVdP policies and procedures.
  • Respond to customer and employee complaints or inquiries.
  • Conduct regular store meetings to inform and communicate store goals and updates to the store team.
  • Maintain appropriate employee recognition program.
  • Train employees in store programs, procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance of safety program.
  • Ensure compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices.
  • Work with Regional Manager & Facilities for maintenance issues and after hours emergencies.

Administration

  • Responsible for all cash management in accordance with policy, including bank deposits, daily receipts, and cash handling.
  • Control Retail store daily expenses.
  • Submit all appropriate paperwork including; daily sales reports, safety committee minutes, accident reports, L&I paperwork and accurate payroll data to Administration in a timely manner.
  • Must be available evening, nights and weekends as required.

Pricing/Merchandising

  • Formulate pricing policies on merchandise according to requirements for profitability of store operations.
  • Monitor the receipt and pricing of merchandise to ensure all merchandise is properly handled, priced, ticketed, and displayed.
  • Coordinate sales promotion activities with the Operations Manager and prepare, or direct assistant managers in preparing, merchandise, displays, and advertising.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work environment.
  • Maintain integrity of the recycling program.
  • Fill in as needed in any department.
  • Report maintenance needs to management promptly.
  • Work within the framework of the Society’s mission and objectives.
