Overview We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Sports Director & KWLM Morning Show Host to join our team. This unique role combines on-air talent with leadership in sports coverage, creating engaging, entertaining, and informative content that connects with our audience. The ideal candidate is passionate about sports, skilled in live broadcasting, and able to bring energy and creativity to our morning show. Key Responsibilities On-Air Host: You will be the host of the KWLM Morning Show, delivering engaging, entertaining, and community-focused content. Develop and execute daily show prep, including trending topics, local interviews, entertainment, and audience interaction. Conduct interviews with guests, community leaders, and listeners. Maintain a strong and consistent on-air personality that reflects the station’s brand. Sports Director Duties: Lead the station’s sports coverage, including play-by-play, pre-game/post-game shows, and special sports programming. Coordinate with local schools, colleges, and professional teams to ensure comprehensive sports coverage. Write and deliver on-air sports reports and updates. Assign, mentor, and schedule part-time or freelance sports staff and contributors. Represent the station at local sporting events and press conferences. Additional Responsibilities: Engage with listeners across social media platforms and create digital content that supports the station’s voice and brand. Voice and produce commercials, promos, and imaging as needed. Participate in station promotions, community events, and appearances. Work collaboratively with the programming and sales teams to support station initiatives. Qualifications Prior on-air experience in radio (morning show and/or sports broadcasting preferred). Strong knowledge of local and national sports. Excellent communication, interviewing, and storytelling skills. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Experience with audio editing, production software, and broadcast equipment. Comfortable with social media platforms and digital content creation. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays for sports coverage. Preferred Attributes Engaging, relatable on-air personality with a sense of humor and creativity.
