STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sports & Events Manager will manage the membership rates, programming & lessons, court schedules, equipment inventory, internal tournaments, and assist with event execution, to achieve maximum community interest and involvement.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Executes and instills our Guest 1st service model to all complex members and guests
  • Hire, train, and develop the Guest Services & Sports Program Teams
  • Properly uses facility software to effectively manage membership, programming, and court rentals
  • Schedule/reserve courts for all bookings (league, events, team practices, schools, camps, lessons, clinics)
  • Assists members regarding scheduling and policies
  • Assists with the Risk Management of all park usage, completes safety audits and reports results
  • Coordinates requests for equipment usage and court space with the General Manager and other Team Members
  • Assists with completing incident report forms whenever appropriate
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Coordinator to develop effective marketing strategies
  • Provides supervision on evenings, weekends, and during special events when needed
  • Supervises the courts and surrounding play areas to produce optimal playing environment
  • Assists with the creation and management of tournaments and special events
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the General Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • Previous experience growing and managing membership base
  • Experience working with a wide variety of ages ranging from youth to seniors
  • Experience in dealing with sporting events as a consumer, or other relevant experience
  • Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and organization
  • Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of sport management experience is preferred
  • PRR Certification is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain focus in a high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Must comply with safety and health code standards
  • Facility has intermittent noise
