The Archdiocese of Denver is seeking a Social Media Manager that will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that supports the mission of the Archdiocese of Denver, promotes the teachings of the Catholic Church, and engages a diverse audience of parishioners, ministries, and the broader community. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Coordination: Leads the development and maintenance of a comprehensive content calendar that reflects the liturgical year, key feast days, and archdiocesan priorities. Content is strategically aligned with broader Church initiatives to ensure thematic consistency and timely delivery across all campaigns. This role also involves close collaboration with departments, ministries, schools, and parishes to amplify shared stories and promote unity in mission throughout the archdiocese.
- Creation & Management: Creates, curates and publishes high-quality, mission-driven content across all active social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Threads. All content is crafted to faithfully reflect the teachings, values, and tone of the Catholic Church, serving as a public witness to the faith. Content is adapted to suit platform-specific best practices while maintaining a consistent and authentic voice that resonates with a diverse audience.
- Community Engagement & Moderation: Actively monitors and moderates comments, messages, and tags to ensure a respectful, charitable, and faith-affirming digital environment. This role includes engaging with followers in a timely, pastoral, and professional manner—offering encouragement, support, or redirection as needed. By fostering meaningful interaction, the Social Media Manager serves as a vital point of connection between the archdiocese and both the Catholic and broader online communities.
- Analytics & Strategy Adjustment: Tracks key performance indicators—including reach, engagement, follower growth, and content performance—to assess the impact of digital efforts. Using these insights, strategies are continually refined to enhance engagement, expand reach, and ensure that all social media activity remains aligned with the mission and values of the Church.
- Crisis & Institutional Communications: Plays a key role in supporting communication during crises or urgent situations, ensuring that all messaging is clear, accurate, timely, and consistent across platforms. This role also assists in promoting official archdiocesan announcements and pastoral letters, helping to disseminate important information to the faithful and the wider community in a way that reflects the voice and mission of the Church.
Requirements:
What We’re Looking For
- A practicing Christian eager to carry out the mission of the Archdiocese to rescue all people in Jesus Christ for the glory of the Father.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media or related field.
- A mission-driven professional who is passionate about making a meaningful impact through communications work.
- 2-5 years of experience with managing social media accounts, preferably in a faith-based, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization
- Ability to be in the office regularly with a hybrid schedule
- Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, etc.
- Familiarity with liturgical calendars, Church documents and Catholic terminology is a plus.
