Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Electronics)

Overview

Astranis is operating five satellites in orbit with additional launches planned, servicing contracts worth over $1billion and backed by investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Blackrock and Fidelity.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and qualify new suppliers travel required to production sites.
• Qualify new processes and products.
• Develop incoming inspection strategies and author incoming inspection procedures.
• Support product development & DFx reviews by representing manufacturing and quality.
• Lead nonconformances and problemsolving efforts to closure.
• Maintain documentation and traceability of electronics manufacturing.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
• 10+ years of experience as Manufacturing, Quality or Product Engineer, 5+ years working closely with electronics manufacturing (EEE components, harnesses, PCB or PCBA).
• Familiar with IPCA600, 610, 620 Class3 standards, IPCJSTD001 and/or MILSTD.
• Experience in production floor bringing up new products, production processes, and quality inspections.
• Ability to author Astranis technical requirements (qualification and acceptance procedures, addendums, specifications) and provide feedback to the Electrical Engineering teams designs.
• Ability to maintain supplier scorecards, implement department metrics and support crossfunctional teams.
• Ability to sell Astranis image and mission across our existing supply chain and potential new commercial partners.

Bonus

• Experience working under ISO/TS61949, AS9100, or ISO9001.
• Familiar with electronics supply chain.
• Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt.
• Familiar with electronics secondary processing (polymeric coating, cleaning, manual soldering, tinning, degolding).
• Handson experience reworking electronics, doing touchups, or performing testing and inspection.
• Familiar with component upscreening, TID and HDR testing.

Compensation

Base Salary $130,000$170,000 USD. Astranis includes equity, robust benefits (high quality companysubsidized healthcare, disability, life insurance, flexible PTO, 401(k), free onsite catered meals).
