Job Summary Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Environmental Scientist, Geologist, Engineer or Hydrogeologist to join its collaborative team in Miami, FL. This individual will serve a key function in providing site exploration activities, including soil borings and monitoring well installations; conducting field tests; collecting field data and samples; monitoring construction sites; and compiling data and preparing reports. The position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, solve problems, and overcome challenges in restoring the environment and returning blighted properties to productive re-use while protecting and enhancing the environment. Job Responsibilities Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by performing field tests, collecting samples, recording data, and performing routine calculations; Monitor complex construction projects by conducting tests to evaluate compliance with specifications; Collect soil, soil vapor, indoor and ambient air, sediment, surface water, and groundwater samples; Operate and maintain groundwater and soil vapor treatment systems; Assist with regulatory permits for site investigation and remediation; Review environmental, geological, and historical records for environmental due diligence; Prepare logs and field forms such as drilling logs and investigation dailies; Identify and solve field problems, documenting issues and solutions; Lead the preparation and modification of engineering documents including reports and plans; Manage tasks within budgets and schedules, tracking project budgets as needed; Collaborate professionally with clients and subcontractors; Supervise or coordinate work of staff engineers and interns; Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or Hydrogeology; 4+ years of experience in contaminated site investigation, remediation, and oversight; Professional licensure or ability to obtain within one year (for engineers); Experience with Phase I, II, and III environmental assessments; Experience with groundwater treatment system design and operation; Experience providing litigation support or similar services; Knowledge of environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA); Experience working with regulatory agencies; Excellent communication skills; Attention to detail, analytical skills, multitasking abilities; Ability to work independently and in teams; Availability for overtime; and Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
