**Please note this is a summer internship only, and it is located in Formerra's Romeoville office**

P osition Overview

The Cloud/Cybersecurity Intern will play role in developing and implementing Formerra’s Cybersecurity program and safeguarding our company’s digital assets in both cloud and on-prem systems and networks. This position will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will contribute to critical security operations and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• You will care for and overview security monitoring platforms, analyze, security alerts, and respond promptly to potential threats indicators.

• Collects data on various security metrics and builds comprehensive dashboards that provide insights into the effectiveness of our security measures and proposes areas for improvement.

• Provides Incident Response support when an actionable incident is identified.

• Documents, investigates, and reports on information security issues and emerging trends.

• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity/Cloud architect on remediation strategies and timelines for vulnerabilities.

• Conducts log analysis

• System reimaging of Windows and Linux platforms.

• Conducts malware/threat removal and analysis.

• Provides user support for analysis of quarantined messages, data, and disposition of phishing messages.

• Threat feed monitoring and updating.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will be pursuing a bachelor's degree in information security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Demonstrates a keen interest in information security and a desire to master security operations, threat intelligence, and compliance.

• Brings a working knowledge of security principles, tools, and technologies.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and networks effectively with cybersecurity stakeholders.

• Handles sensitive information and data ethically and with discretion.

• Competency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.

• Familiarity of vulnerability scanning tools and/or penetration testing techniques

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services

Working knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
