Job Title and Organization Instructional Technologist at Dallas Theological Seminary Overview The Part-Time Faculty Support Specialist is responsible for providing excellent customer service to the faculty of DTS. This individual will assist in planning, producing, and managing the progress of faculty podcasts. They will advise faculty in best practices, run recording sessions, and ensure the timely execution of podcast deliverables. They will train faculty on the use of desktop and classroom technology including the Office 365 suite (Teams, PPT, Word, OneDrive, etc.), and how to implement them to facilitate in-class usage, informal communication with students, personal research, etc. They will also create “how-to” manuals in PDF and video formats with attention to form and function. If needed, their training scope may extend to others who facilitate classroom lectures and discussions, such as administrative assistants, volunteer students, vice presidents, executive directors, or other heavy meeting-room users. Job Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to the DTS family, with a focus on faculty. Coordinate recording sessions, equipment setup, and file delivery. Liaise with faculty and IT/media teams to ensure consistent quality and on-time release. Analyze and report on podcast analytics and recommend changes as needed. Schedule and conduct training sessions with academic departments, interfacing with department heads and administrative assistants. Regularly interface with the Academic Affairs Office and the Dean of Faculty Development to understand faculty needs. Conduct comprehensive Teams training for all faculty. Provide extensive classroom technology training using Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR). Provide Office 365 training, focusing on the creative use of PowerPoint and Word. Troubleshoot Teams in desktop and classroom environments. Escalate tickets through the proper channels when needed. Create PDFs and videos for various “How-to” manuals. Continuously educate oneself on Office 365 and classroom technology. Perform other tasks as directed by DTS management and IT department personnel. Qualifications Humble, driven, and creative problem-solver. Strong understanding of Microsoft Teams, including meeting setup, troubleshooting, and integration with OneDrive/SharePoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) systems and basic AV troubleshooting. Proficiency with audio hardware (microphones, interfaces, headphones, mixers). Competence in file management, version control, and cloud-based storage systems. Skill in video editing (basic proficiency using Premiere Pro or similar tools). Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and faculty training principles is a plus. Education and Experience Experience with both Mac and Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of Office 365; an intimate understanding of Teams is preferred. At least two years of related experience. Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) is preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds for short periods. Must be able to stand on a ladder. Must be able to perform classroom maintenance.
