Job Description
Up to $26.37 per hour/based on experience Oversees all kitchen activity to ensure that all meals are of the best quality prior to being served to the residents. Directs all kitchen personnel, maintains food and kitchen sanitation policies, ensures adequate food supplies, prepares menus, and complies with budgetary requirements. Assists Administrator in preparation and during all special community/family events.
Minimum Qualifications: v Must be able to read written directions in English, comprehend verbal instructions in English, and write in English at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
v Must have current food handler's card.
v Must be able to prepare attractive well-balanced meals.
v Must have previous supervisory experience.
v Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
v Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential Functions/ Duties: v Prepare all food according to the menu in a safe and sanitary manner and insure that all kitchen staff does the same.
v Able to supervise staff.
v Oversees and insures proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to menus.
v Carefully manages waste by ordering and preparing food according to current resident population.
v Orders all food and kitchen supplies.
v Prepares and serves only quality food products and monitors that all staff does the same.
v Prepares food in a timely manner and all meals are served on time.
v Insures that dining rooms are properly cleaned and re-stocked after meals.
v Oversees dining room set up and service and oversees that snacks are available at all times.
v Prepares food as need per resident routines so that meals are available for those residents whose daily routines may include sleeping during the day and awake at night.
v Responds to all resident concerns regarding food or dining room issues.
v Follow all company procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning supplies.
v Follows and ensures that all staff follows proper cleaning procedures and storage of all dishes untensils and cooking equipment.
v Insures all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled, dated and stored properly.
v Oversees proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce cost.
v Oversees all kitchen cleaning tasks and insures that the kitchen is always clean and sanitary.
v Knows and follows regulatory guidelines for food prep, storage, refrigerator and freezer temperatures, dishwasher temperatures, and kitchen sanitation.
v Immediately reports to Executive Director, any resident/family concerns regarding food or dining experience and any issues with regulatory compliance or staff issues.
v Able to prepare and serve meals for special events at the community.
v Any other duties assigned by Administrator or Assistant Administrator.
