Job Summary The Service Manager directly supervises and coordinates the activities and responsibilities in the shop. Accountable for the shop performance, including but not limited to, labor management, service level, operation expenses, team management and improving customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises the work of service employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines and proper procedures. Prepares and issues work schedules, deadlines and duty assignments for service employees. Implements departmental policies, procedures and service standards in conjunction with management. Discusses job performance problems with employees to identify causes. Trains employees in the areas of company policies and job duties. Recruits, interviews and selects employees for hire. Analyzes financial activities of the department and provides input into the budget planning and preparation process. Designs, implements and evaluates staff training and development programs, customer service initiatives and performance measurement criteria. Applies knowledge of DOT regulations to department operations. Manages the payroll process and monitors and controls overtime. Identifies employee training needs and sets development goals for on the job, internal or external training. Maintains a safe work environment. Other duties as required. Requirements High school diploma or GED required 3+ years management experience, 5+ years truck maintenance experience required.
