Roles and Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of prospective driver trainers following check-in procedures
• Deliver hands-on training for Safety Route Ins through practical application
• Support instructional efforts during practical training sessions for prospective driver trainers
• Provide coverage and support for the Safety Team as needed
• Conduct performance investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions or interventions
• Assess and certify the qualifications of potential driver trainers
• Facilitate "Train-the-Trainer" programs and present "Lifestyle of a Trainer" instructional content

Position Goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Enhance the quality and preparedness of OTR (Over-the-Road) driver trainers through structured evaluation and hands-on training
• Improve the safety performance of OTR drivers with identified issues through targeted training and individualized coaching

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Proven experience as an OTR Driver Trainer
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and mentor drivers in a one-on-one setting

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
• Familiarity with internal software systems related to training and safety
• Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom instructor with strong presentation skills

Growth Potential

• Opportunities for advancement to roles such as Driver Training Supervisor or Safety Manager

Due to the collaborative nature of the work environment, the spontaneous need for idea generation and execution, and the potential for expedited remediations, responses, or information gathering, in-person, in-office attendance is an essential function of this position.
