Job Description

HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant II to perform data collection by conducting research interviews. Recruits and screens subjects for research studies. Collects baseline and follow up data from subjects. This position will be in support of Complex Exposure Threats Center of Excellence (CETCE), a sub-center of the Washington DC War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC). The WRIISC develops and provides post-deployment health expertise to Veterans and their health care providers through clinical programs, education and risk communication, and research. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. Serve as a team member for CETC related research studies; attendance in relevant research meetings Performs laboratory research projects, including collection and organization of data, and maintaining databases. Makes detailed observations on experiments. Applies quality control measures as outlined/required by the protocol. Assist in completion of related statistical analyses and report generation Assist in the writing of research findings and development of new projects objectives Helping with research administration, including managing budgets and grant funding; serving as consulting reviewer for peer-reviewed journals; and analyzing organization/operational problems, making recommendations and developing/implementing solutions Follows instructions and standard operating procedures to perform expected tasks. May provide basic instruction to other lab staff. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree Social Science (i.e., Sociology, Psychology) or related field. Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience required. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to understand and utilize scientific/medical terminology and research theory in both oral and written communications. Ability to use measurable and verifiable information for making decisions or judgments. Skill in statistical interpretation and data analysis using statistical software and/or spreadsheets and database software applications. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Interest in being trained in neuropsych testing is a plus. Qualtrics experience preferred. This position requires that you obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check. Work Environment This position will take place primarily in an office setting. Compensation The annual salary/hourly pay range for this position is $20.99-$31.14.
