About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Diversity Officer to spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising senior leadership on DEI matters, ensuring that policies and practices are in line with the goal of creating a diverse and inclusive environment and collaborating with various university stakeholders to address barriers and promote a culture of equity. This role demands a strategic leader with a strong background in higher education and a proven track record of advancing DEI. The Chief Diversity Officer will also be tasked with providing training and learning opportunities to enhance DEI knowledge and will serve as the external representative for the university on these critical issues. Applicants for the Chief Diversity Officer position at the company should hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of experience in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within a complex organization. A Master's degree and experience in affirmative action and EEO compliance are preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of DEI best practices, be adept at using data to drive decision-making, and have excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. The role requires the ability to work with diverse populations, manage change, and offer solutions for problem-solving in a solutions-based, positive manner. The Chief Diversity Officer will be expected to engage with the community and promote a culture that values and incorporates diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the university.
