Broadway Management Group is seeking an experienced full-time, office-based Accounting Manager; Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. This person will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with company policies, and timely processing of transactions. The Accounting Manager will oversee a small, dedicated accounting staff, provide guidance on complex transactions, and work closely with property managers and leadership to support financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting functions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee all cash management and bank reconciliations for property portfolio.

Collaboration & Support

• Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff to ensure performance and compliance with policies.
• Manage and assign workflow to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Collaborate with property managers to resolve tenant account issues, delinquencies, and owner inquiries.
• Support financial activity for properties, which may include final operating statements and other closing duties.

Compliance & Process Improvement

• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audits.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with property management or real estate accounting strongly preferred. This includes a working knowledge of property management software, YARDI.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
